Republicans have been lining up to denounce the political policies of opponent, U.S. President, Barack Obama. However, as it turns out, Obama's own Democrats have turned on him as well. According to a newly released poll, 1 in 4 Democrats do not want President Obama to be nominated as their candidate in the 2012 election.
Rick Perry
My how times have changed. Just 2-years ago, Obama was the Democrats' darling, who seemingly could do no wrong. With emphasis on the word seemingly, as he has experienced a massive erosion of support from both sides of the aisle. Current polls continue to indicate, a generic Republican challenger would beat ("wallop") President Obama in the 2012 election. Republican governor, Rick Perry currently leads the pack, as the man people want as the next president of the United States.
Former Florida governor, Jeb Bush, decided to give tips on how to win the state in the 2011 election. By what? Dumping ballot boxes in the Everglades, as his brother had done in 2000, with the Supreme Court, under Justice Scalia, handing him the election. The Bush family are a massive liability to the Republican party and need to stay away.
George W. Bush
Politicians need sound advice about Florida and every other state. People can't pay their bills, as they have lost their jobs or are facing reduced hours. People want to own their own homes and not be gouged by banks. People want affordable food. Currently, food costs are too high, forcing many to pick cheap brands that are not always healthy. People want to be able to send their children to university and many can't because of lack of scholarships and rising tuition fees.
As bad as Bush was, Barack Obama should be sweating, as polls indicate he is in trouble as well
People want affordable insurance of all kinds, so they don't have to worry if they get sick or their home is hit by a natural disaster. Immigrants want to be given a chance to be lawful, productive citizens that contribute to the economy, not take away from it, as some wrongly assume. People don't want canned answers and phony campaign promises, but real solutions that will be implemented.
Texas Governor, Rick Perry, is leading in U.S. Presidential polls, outstripping fellow Republicans and rival Democrats. The conservative Christian, leapt into the lead over the past few weeks, after making bold speeches, denouncing the manner in which U.S. President, Barack Obama, is handling the economic crisis, which has worsened.
Rick Perry
It has clearly won Perry a number of supporters, who are getting behind his bid for the U.S. presidency. In the face of all the political changes transpiring in Washington, President Obama and his cabinet, are mulling new stimulus bills, which don't work and prepping Congress for the next increase in the debt ceiling. President Obama's poll numbers continue to plummet.
U.S. President, Barack Obama, is being criticized by both Democrats and Republicans, for going on a 10-day vacation to the luxury enclave of Martha's Vineyard. It is one of many breaks he has taken this year. Politicians are lining up to slam the move.
Barack Obama (stress is prematurely aging the President, as the First Lady is wrinkle free. Maybe he should borrow some of her moisturizer).
To add some levity to the bleak situation, the RNC has launched a website called www.obamagetaway.com which chides the president, via a series of humorous postcards about his ill-timed vacation. The funniest cards are about Vice President, Joe Biden and separately, former President Jimmy Carter. That website is so wrong (LOL).
The latest financial numbers and stats released on the U.S. economy are not pretty. Unemployment is up, the dollar is down setting record lows, more banks are closing and the stock market keeps tumbling in triple digit numbers.
Maybe Obama's time would be better spent in Washington, D.C. in the White House, working on the economy. It really wasn't a good time for a vacation, when so many people in America are suffering and can't afford one.
U.S. President Barack Obama, made an announcement today, regarding a new job plan he is unveiling for America. However, after 2 and 1/2 years in office, launching job plan, after job plan that have failed to fix widespread unemployment and business closures, the public is somewhat skeptical about the President's latest initiative.
As the phrase goes, the proof will be in the pudding, if it really works this time in putting people back to work. Past attempts have only managed to increase the national deficit, with few jobs created to substantiate such expenditures.
Texas Governor, Rick Perry, is rising in the Republican party, due to his well-received speeches. As a result, Perry has been gaining on U.S. President Barack Obama in the polls. Perry has been highly critical of the Obama Administration and the manner in which, Federal Reserve Chief, Ben Bernake, has handled the ongoing financial crisis. It is clearly resonating with voters, hence his rising poll numbers.
Barack Obama
Meanwhile, President Obama has hit the road in a tour bus, pitching his agenda for the nation to the American people. Many of President Obama's speeches contain the same message he has proclaimed throughout his presidency, but falling financial numbers revealing the economic decline of the nation, are undermining his promises.
President Barack Obama took office in the White House, promising America "change." Over two and a half years later, America has changed, but regrettably for the worse and it is stressing Obama out. This week, President Obama admitted he is stressed. Obama, like his predecessor, George W. Bush Jr., became like other politicians, who were pulled in all directions by special interests and lobbyists in Washington, then failed to settle on decisive and efficient action in moving the country forward. This stagnation has come at a high price.
In trying to be all things to all people, decisions were made that did not work out for the best. In ignoring sound advice, Bush misrepresented then started two wars, spent America into bankruptcy and gave lavish tax breaks to the rich, of all people, which occurred at the expense of the poor and middle class.
George W. Bush
Barack Obama later assumed office, starting off in one direction, then making an abrupt turn in favor of Corporate America over the common man, which was an ill-advised decision. Obama also started a war of his own in Libya, while reneging on campaign promises to end the widespread military action in Iraq and Afghanistan, deceitfully initiated by his bloodthirsty and oil hungry predecessor. During his time in office, even George Bush Sr., knew better than to push the war machine too far, as it could breed disastrous consequences. Too bad it was a lesson his son didn't learn.
This month, the nation was saddened by news from Afghanistan, regarding the deaths of soldiers apart of the Seal Team Six, who are credited with assassinating terrorist, Osama Bin Laden. The soldiers were young, some 21-years-old and cut down in the prime of their lives, over a war they did not start. It was a tremendous waste of life, illustrating the point that these fruitless wars must end. The U.S. government needs to focus on the homeland. The idea of bringing the fight to the terrorists, was an ill-fated one. It is better to defend the nation's borders from the mainland.
UPDATE: The line "Any government in the world should be able to make due on $14.5 trillion dollars in income per year" should have stated "Any government in the world should be able to make due on $14.5 trillion dollars in income per year (their cut thereof)" and has been fixed.
Why Can't Washington Make It Work
Barack Obama
The GDP of the United States of America is approximately $14.5 trillion dollars, which is a significant sum of money. Yet, Washington felt the necessity to raise the debt ceiling, to negative results, claiming they could not make due on that amount. They claimed it would leave vital national bills unpaid, if they did not increase the current threshold of debt.
The Judiciary Report finds those claims quite dubious. Any government in the world should be able to make due on $14.5 trillion dollars in income per year (their cut thereof). Excessive spending and financially wasteful expenditures is the problem. A lot of money is coming into the national coffers, which could address the nation's financial problems, but a large portion of that figure is being diverted to the wrong things.
First off, if the government eliminated the three unjustifiable wars it has running, many innocent lives would be saved, as well as trillions of dollars, which could be constructively used in America. Further budget cuts at the CIA, FBI and NSA, would prove very beneficial as well, due to the agencies' role in government, usually entailing starting trouble of some sort against innocent Americans or international citizens in the world, in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
U.S. House Speaker John Boehner and President Barack Obama
As the Judiciary Report sees it, 14,000,000 people should not be out of work and suffering, factories shutting, businesses going under, homes being lost to foreclosure, people wanting to go to university, but can't afford to, all so some can keep unjust tax breaks, illegal wars and unlawful surveillance running. A choice needs to be made now, regarding budget cuts and taxation on the rich, to turn the economy around or things will continue to deteriorate.
The other option is to do nothing and circumstances will make the choices for you, as in the nation completely running out of financial options and having to close a number of agencies (CIA, FBI, NSA) and initiatives, as the money simply isn't there to keep it running, with borrowing options extremely narrowing.
The government is playing a dangerous game in Washington, D.C. and it is one they are going to lose, if they remain on the current path they treacherously tread.
The 2008 financial crisis that continues to devastate the U.S. economy, has shown the nation and the world that Washington is experiencing tremendous difficulty in tackling the economic problems besetting America.
In a problem that originated with and due to the policies of former President George W. Bush and has persisted through the presidency of incumbent, Barack Obama, many people are genuinely suffering under extraordinary financial hardships that never should have happened.
Republican House Speaker John Boehner and President Barack Obama
The people did what was asked of them by working and paying their taxes, but due to abusive financial conduct by the corporate sector, permitted by the White House and Congress, mortgage rates were unreasonably reset to backbreaking levels, gouging millions of people into foreclosure and financial ruin. The American dream of owning one's own home has been shattered for millions, with an unprecedented number of foreclosures.
The cost of living in America also spiked, due to greedy oil companies colluding to raise the price of gas and making a fortune each quarter in doing so, with the consent of the White House and Congress. Nothing was done to stop the banks or the oil companies from overcharging people for two important services integral to modern life, which spill over into other areas of commerce, such as creating added costs for food, clothing and electronics suppliers that transport their goods using gas enabled modes of transportation.
George W. Bush
Another issue that continues to lurk in the background are a number of massive ponzi schemes defrauding many out of their hard earned money. There have been a handful of high profile arrests, but there are quite a few fraudsters still in business, if you can call it that, as that is not commerce, but thievery, which is illegal.
Even with the painful realization of the aforementioned issues, the government has failed at every rung to remedy the serious economic problems that have dragged the U.S. economy to unprecedented lows, causing the nation and the world to lose confidence in Washington. Due to the fact that so many other global economies are intertwined with that of America, other nations and their citizens are suffering as well.
Federal Reserve Chief Bern Bernake
The government knows what they need to do to correct the economy, but there’s just one problem, they won’t do it. It is not politically expedient. All the government has to do is pass bipartisan legislation, making the correct budget cuts and implementing appropriate taxes on the rich, along with legislation that puts corporations in check, giving them clearly defined limits by law, regarding what they can and cannot do in the marketplace.
Investors are fleeing the U.S. stock market in droves, as the Dow Jones plunged 634 points today, in response to Standard and Poor's downgrading America's credit rating for the first time in history. This was not a good development for the nation and not something the government should ignore, as some in Washington are currently doing. For almost a century, America has enjoyed a great credit rating with the storied agency and this lack of confidence will have greater repercussions at home and abroad.
Barack Obama
As the Judiciary Report stated on August 5, 2011, Standard and Poor's reserves the right to downgrade America's credit rating even further (U.S. Credit Rating Downgraded For The First Time In History). Two days later, on Sunday, August 7, 2011, Standard and Poor's stated, another downgrade could occur in as soon as "six months." The Obama Administration needs to get to work, or said scenario is likely, if things remain on their current trajectory of trouble. This is truly a shame, as it didn't have to happen.
Standard And Poors (S&P) has downgraded America's once sterling AAA credit rating to an AA+ in news not welcomed by U.S. President Barack Obama and his administration. The $2.4 trillion increase to the U.S. debt ceiling is partly to blame for this historic decision, coupled with no proper tax increases or significant government budget cuts.
It was not a good precedent for President Obama to set. Had Obama simply done what the Judiciary Report has stated for the past couple years - raise taxes on the rich - this would not have happened, as the revenue streams would have begun already and exhibited clear and undeniable intent to reduce the deficit. What's worse is S&P has reserved the option to decrease America's credit rating even further.
Some have tried to spin this news and they should not. Delusion and denial is what created this problem in the first place, in not facing reality and taking positive, proactive action to address the nation's debt. To spin this negative, is the equivalent of a student bringing home a B grade, when they could have received an A had they applied themselves and trying to convince their parents the former is better than the latter.
Congress and the White House have gone out of their way to protect the rich, at the expense of the middle class and the poor. They would do well to remember, there are more middle class and poor in America, than rich, which means more votes to remove politicians from office and replace them with others.
Enough with the tax cuts for the rich, as it is damaging the nation in so many ways. It's time to raise taxes on the rich - a proven, time tested method of bringing in revenues to cash strapped governments. It won't make the rich poor, but they'll have a little less and it will help clean up the financial mess.
Debt Ceiling Increase Did Nothing To Allay Investor Fears
Barack Obama
As mentioned last night, the U.S. stock market is in a bad way. This morning things got worse, as it plunged 500 points, taking it back to the height of the 2008 financial crisis. The passage of the congressional bill, to raise the U.S. debt ceiling by $2.4 trillion dollars, did nothing to assuage the markets. It was a very risky political gamble for President Obama that has not paid off.
"The Obama Deception" is an interesting documentary about U.S. President, Barack Obama and his connection to the questionable Bilderberg Group, consisting of a consortium of the world's richest men and women, who discreetly meet every year, in a bid to dictate world finance. Like George W. Bush before him, President Obama has fawned over the greedy group, comprised of billionaires looking out for their bottom line and not the financial health of the general public. The film makes a number of interesting points.
President Obama made many promises on the campaign trail in 2008, only to break the majority of them when he took office. The Bilderberg Group and other wealthy campaign donors, are largely responsible for this irresponsible shift in position. Obama has tried to play both ends against the middle, deceiving one group (the poor and middle class) while appeasing another (the rich). As the phrase goes, one cannot stand on both sides of the issue.
The poster for "The Obama Deception" might be misleading to some, as the movie does not so much imply the president is an Uncle Tom, but reveals his agenda has now become that of Wall Street, mostly comprised of very wealthy white men.
The film also explores America and Britain's oligarchs and the role they have played in shaping world finance. The film accuses the rich of having President Kennedy assassinated, for philosophically breaking ties with them, in turning his attention in office to matters such as ending the war in Vietnam, civil rights for minorities, "cutting the Fed down to size," world peace and developing a space program.
The documentary contends Kennedy's assassination was a warning to all future presidents never to do this again, in a message of, "Do as you are told or die." The film states, "John F. Kennedy had enraged the entire elite network" as they thought he would be a "puppet" due to his "pro-Nazi father." However, he rebelled against the elite's wishes.
It's ironic, as Obama started his presidency much the same as Kennedy, even reminding me of him in some ways, but the current president made an abrupt turn one year after taking office. Many people noticed this and commented on it as well.
According to the film, Obama has become the most Wall Street president in U.S. history, with his appointment book reflecting this leaning. The film states, "It is the most extreme Wall Street administration we’ve ever had" and "no one else counts for anything else under Obama." It's a shame, because the president started off with good goals that have now become corrupted.
U.S. President Barack Obama is having a hard time in the polls. Numbers in every area of polling indicate, the American people are fed up with the debt ceiling debacle and the economy in general. There has been no recovery in the U.S. economy, only massive spending that is drying up and revealing all the cracks and flaws the government tried to camouflage.
But wait, Obama isn't the only one on the hot seat. The U.S. Congress saw its poll numbers drop to an all time low, with approval rating sitting at an uncomfortable 6 percent and it is deserved. They have passed ludicrous spending bills and can't, excuse me, won't even agree on a plan for the debt ceiling, by taking the best parts of both political parties' proposals and merging them into one bill, for the good of the nation.
President Obama and members of Congress debating the debt ceiling
U.S. House Speaker and Republican, John Boehner, has accused Obama of caring more about reelection, than resolving the debt ceiling crisis that is gripping the nation. The clock is ticking and in less than a week, if no decision is reached, America will default on its debts. According to the Los Angeles Times, Obama's own Democrats are abandoning him on this issue, as they have been pushed to the point of anger.
Published reports indicate congressional Senator, John Boehner, has walked away from the debt ceiling debate, against President Barack Obama, exasperated that they have been unable to come to a final agreement. There is talk that Obama's own Democrats are angry with him over the lack of progress. The press and public had hoped the issue was almost resolved, but the latest on the negotiations illustrate otherwise.
"Video: Speaker Boehner: Time for the No-Budget Senate to Act on Cut, Cap & Balance"
Prominent Republican senator, John Boehner, took to the podium today, to announce the Republican party has developed a financial plan for America, but await a response from U.S. President, Barack Obama, regarding the course of action he intends to take. The clock is winding down to the August default deadline, in the debt ceiling debacle Congress is currently presiding over.
Barack Obama
The regrettable fact regarding the congressional fighting, excuse me, debates, is neither side has been able to take the better ideas from each party and merge them into one proper solution. Overall, the Republican party has the better, more prudent economic plan save for the no taxes clause, which, frankly, is a problem.
John Boehner
The Democrats' financial plan has too much spending, but its true redeeming factor is the tax increase on the rich, which would make a big difference (provided the money isn't squandered by too much spending again). Really, is it that hard to compromise with each other. Even the government had to admit this week that the talks have become unusual and strangely stalled, in comparison to past negotiations. Something is wrong.
In listening to President Obama and members of his cabinet speak about the financial crisis, one walks away with the impression, they have the mindset of gamblers. So much money has been pumped into the U.S. economy during President Obama’s term, yet he alarmingly continues to spend and keeps suggesting more stimulus packages, as the solution to America’s dire financial problems.
They sound like gamblers, who keep making risky wagers, believing that next gamble is the one that’s going to put them on top and in the black, only to end up further in the red, in a financial hole that keeps deepening.
It’s time for a sensible approach to finance with a sound fiscal plan, as the Judiciary Report has advocated for years. America does not have money to burn. It’s time for certain people in Washington to stop acting like it. There is a massive difference between debt and profit. Learn it.
After two presidents in a row, Bush and Obama, exhibited poor financial acumen, making very risky economic choices, to the detriment of America and the globe, the financial world has lost confidence in Washington.
The tides are changing in the world. It is the rise of China, India and Brazil in finance, which is a positive development for the world, as it means more people advancing. If America is to remain competitive in the financial world, prudent, precise and insightful action needs to be taken now to set things aright with the economy or risk falling to the wayside. The truth hurts, but it is only in confronting it and making the necessary changes, can one improve and move forward.
In a jab at U.S. President, Barack Obama, leading Republican, John Boehner, outlined his party's economic and political plans for America, in the wake of a terrible financial crisis. Boehner also went on to state, President Obama has no financial plan for America, only issuing speeches in the face of serious issues.
Senator John Boehner (left) and President Barack Obama (right)
As the deadline for the debt ceiling nears, the President and his fellow Democrats, are locked in negotiations with rival Republicans and it appears they have made very little headway. Here's hoping both sides will accomplish something in the coming days.
U.S. President, Barack Obama, is reportedly very frustrated with the lack of progress in negotiations, regarding America's debt ceiling. He lashed out in anger this week stating, "I have reached the point where I say enough. Would Ronald Reagan be sitting here? I’ve reached my limit. This may bring my presidency down, but I will not yield on this." Currently, if there's anything that is going to bring Obama's presidency down, it is his unprecedented government spending, with no results to show for it, as the economy continues to worsen in every way.
John Boehner
On the other side of the aisles, top Republican, John Boehner, is sticking to his guns on not raising taxes on the rich (which the Judiciary Report does not agree with) and budget cuts (which the Judiciary Report does agree with). It is in times like these, it is beneficial to look to economic plans of the past that worked and within reason, apply those lessons to the challenges of today.
Timothy Geithner, the Treasury Secretary of U.S. President, Barack Obama, admitted in a candid interview last week that the financial hardships besetting America, shall last for a long time. Wrong answer! The people don't want to hear that and the sad thing is, the economy could be repaired, but the Democrats and Republicans refuse to agree on a financially sensible plan.
At the beginning of his presidency, bankers representing Americas top banks, went to the White House to meet with Obama and basically blew smoke up his butt. They talked up their dubious plans and walked away with truckloads of U.S. taxpayer money, only to hoard it, which does not benefit the nation.
It is the Judiciary Report's belief, a line needs to be drawn in the sand with banks and other financial institutions, formally notifying them, if they are not going to productively use the stimulus money in the U.S. economy, they must return the funds or face criminal charges. Taxes also need to be raised on the rich, to help combat the sky high deficit, with some of the funds used to create new jobs, but in a sensible manner (Obama Calls For Job Summit).
WASHINGTON (AP) — Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner (GYT'-nur) says many Americans will face hard times for a long time to come. He says President Barack Obama rescued the United States from a second Great Depression and will keep working to strengthen the economy. But Geithner says will be some time before many people feel like the country is recovering.
Geithner tells NBC's "Meet the Press" that it's a very tough economy. He says that for a lot of people "it's going to feel very hard, harder than anything they've experienced in their lifetime now, for a long time to come."
