Stars in the genre are upset by the decision, deeming it an insult, as they see themselves as real actors and actresses.

However, they must realize, reality television is not real acting. They are not thespians. Some study for many years to become an actor or actress. It really is not the same thing as being yourself in front of a camera on a show that is put together in a sensational manner by a production crew, as reality TV is formulated to be. Think about it, would you give Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian or Snooki an Oscar. No, as what they do is not real acting.
